Model Village

This project uses expressive black-and-white ink illustrations to explore the emotional experience of Alzheimer’s disease. Inspired in part by a 99% Invisible podcast episode on model villages—miniature towns that feel familiar yet strangely distant—the work draws parallels between these frozen, scaled-down worlds and the fragmented memory and perception of Alzheimer’s patients. Through abstraction and contrast, the project aims to evoke empathy and raise quiet awareness of this incurable condition.
